Mattie Frances (Wilson) Adams Obituary

Mrs. Mattie Wilson Adams, age 86, of Concord, passed Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis. She was born on May 6, 1931 in Mecklenburg County to the late Otha Wilson and Garnell Torrence Wilson. She was a graduate of Barber Scotia College and was last employed as a Home Health Aide Supervisor.


She was a lifelong member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Dunns Mountain Rd., Salisbury, where she served faithfully as a Deaconess and Missionary. She was also a member of the Floral Club and Eastern Star.


In addition to her parents, a daughter, Cassandra Bridgers; brothers, William Wilson and Neal Wilson; and sister, Charlotte Crafton, preceded her in death.


Precious memories remain with her children, Robert Adams (Ivy) of Concord, Robin Augustin (Tony) of Huntersville, Linda Brigmon of Maryland, Cynthia Grissett of Long Island, N.Y., Subreana Adams of Charlotte and Justina Ezeji (Cletus) of Huntersville; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


Service & Visitation: Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. and funeral 1 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at New Zion Missionary Baptist Chiurch, Dunns Mountain Rd., Salisbury. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Patrick Jones, pastor, will officiate. Hairston Funeral Home is serving the Adams family.
