Mrs. Nancy Gwyn Thomas, age 85 of 513 Lafayette Circle, Salisbury, died, Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Rowan Regional Medical Centet, Salisbury, NC. She was born February 6, 1923 in Mt. Airy, NC to the late Earnest and Fannie Herton Gwyn, Sr.
Mrs. Thomas was educated in the public schools of Surry County. She was last employed in farming.
Survivors are a devoted sister-in-law, Ethel Mae Gwyn, Cleveland, NC; nephews, James Gwyn (Dianne), Richard Gwyn and Donald Gwyn (Tonya), Statesville, NC; nieces, Fannie Hayes, Midway, NC, Bernite Mack, Winston-Salem, NC, Nancy Montgomery and Cynthia Gwyn Anderson both of Salisbury, NC; a host of cousins and other relatives.
Funeral services will be Friday, 3:30 pm at Moore's Chapel AME Zion Church and visitation at 3:00 pm with the Pastor, Rev. William Speas, Officating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
