Norman Francis Alexander, Sr

November 25, 1911 ~ March 31, 2008 (age 96) 96 Years Old

Mr. Norman Francis Alexander, Sr., 96,affectionately called "Muscle" and "Pop" of 623 Forney Street, Salisbury, NC died Monday, March 31, 2008 at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

He was the son of the late John and Lula Heilig. Mr. Alexander was educated in the public schools of Rowan County. He retired from North Carolina Finishing Company.

A founding member of Hall's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, he was a Trustee, member of the Men's Choir, Senior choir, Gospel Chorus and other organizations of the church. He was a former mason and volunteer of Rowan Helping Ministry.

Mr. Alexander is preceded in death by his wife, Mozelle Johnson Alexander; sons, Leon Alexander, Leo Alexander and Terry Alexander; grandchildren Vernon Alexander, Terry Wilson, Yolanda Alexander and Curtis Alexander.

Survivors are a son, Norman F. Alexander, Jr., Ypsilanti, MI; daughters, Elizabeth A. Watson (James), Constance "Connie" Alexander, Carolyn Alexander and Corlis A. Phifer (Isaiah) all of Salisbury, NC; grandchildren reared in the home, Rita Alexander, Karen Aelxander Hancock (Reginald), Terry Alexander, Corey Alexander, Melissa Alexander Knox (Cheancy) and Latonya Alexander all of Salisbury, NC; great grandchild reared in the home, Christopher Pharr; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral 3:00 pm Sunday visitation 2:00 pm at Hall's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church with the pastor, Elder Richard Johnson, Officiating. Burial will be in Rowan Memorial Park.
