Ms. Phyllis Ann Tate (affectionately known as "Candy"), age 53 of 402 Ferndale Drive, Salisbury, died, Saturday, July 5, 2008. She was born in Washington, DC on August 3, 1954 to the late Mary Hardin Tate and Willie Tate. She was a graduate of Price High School and previously attended Gethsemane Baptist Church. She was last employed with Holiday Inn as a housekeeper.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Vernon Hardin.
Survivors who will forever cherish her memory are her son, Allen Tate, Salisbury, daughters, Annette Tate, Salisbury, and Michelle Tate, Concord; sister, Lajuan "cookie", Chase, Baltimore, Md.; uncle, William L. Hardin, and aunt, Rev. Blanche Jennings also of Baltimore, Md, and devoted, lifetime companion, Jody Edward Austin of the home.
Visitation: Thursday, July 10, 2008 10:30 a.m., Gethsemane Baptist Church.
Service: Thursday, July 10, 2008 11:00 a.m., Gethsemane Baptist Church, Rev. Clayton Ruggs, Eulogist, Rev. Dr. Clary Phelps, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
