Mr. Quentin Roosevelt "Cooter" Parker, Jr., 62, of 2218 Alpine Rd., Durham, NC died Monday, June 30, 2008 at VA Medical Center, Durham, NC.
Mr. Parker was born June 20, 1946, in Salisbury to the late Quentin R. and Doris Lee Chaulk, Sr. He was a graduate of Dunbar High School and retired as a carpenter. He was a member of Remnant In Christ Outreach and a Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his parents, a sister, Jackie Torrence, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include daughters, Almitra Parker-Hamlin (Kirk, Sr.), U.S. Army, station in Korea, and Tara Parker Reid (Shawn), Somerset, N.J.; brother, Harold L. Parker (Soha), Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; sisters Delores Hammond, Hampton, Va., Sheila Sullivan (Gus), Salisbury, Nancy Flythe, Glen Burnie, Md., Pastor Miriam P. Keller, Salisbury and Judy Parker Lee, Durham; god-daughter Candice "Candy", Brown Valentine, Charlotte; five grand-children; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Service, Visitation, Burial: The funeral service will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with visitation at 1 p.m. at Remnant In Christ Outreach, Newsome Road, Salisbury, with Pastor Miriam P. Keller officiating. Military rites by the Salisbury Honor Guard following the service on Saturday. Burial will be on Monday, July 7, 2008 at the U.S. National Cemetery, Salisbury.
