Reverend Mary Magalene McIntyre, age 57, of 915 South Fulton Street,Salisbury entered eternal life on August 24, 2009 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem.
Rev. McIntyre was born February 28, 1952 in Salisbury to the late James E. and Dorothy Mae Davis McIntyre.
She was a graduate of West Rowan High School and received her BA Degree in Theology Studies from Livingstone College.
She was previously employed at Magnolia Gardens as a CNA. Rev. McIntyre was a member Macedonia Baptist Church. She was a Associate Minister, Asst. Director of the BTU, Youth Director of the Youth Missionary Circle, Corresponding Secretary, Sunday School Teacher of the Women's class, Youth Choir Director, Chairperson of the Youth Fundraising, Pastor's Aid, Director of the W. T. Jackson Spiritual Dancers, C. T. Hailey Fellowship choir, Missionary #2, Nurses Board, United Ministerial Alliance and active with the Guiding Light Missionary Baptist Association.
Rev. McIntyre was previously married to James Caldwell of Salisbury.
Survivors are a son, David May of the home; daughters, Shaneka Mcintyre, Salisbury, Marquise Hicks and Shonna Smith both of Washington, DC; brother, James Heiligh, Salisbury; sisters, Carol Davis-Bassknight (Ron), Atlanta, GA and Beverly Allen (Henry), Cleveland,NC; step mothers, Ruth Carr and Ellen Robertson both of Salisbury; step brothers, Marvin Carr, Ray Carr, David Robertson and Ray Robertson all of Salisbury; step sisters, Martha Davis, Marie Harris, Barbara Robertson and Doris Robertson all of Salisbury, Kathy Long, Charlotte, NC; foster sisters, malvia Houpe, Cleveland, NC and Shirley Geter, Woodleaf, NC; grandchildren reared in the home, Kendra Smith, Keisha Smith, Ebony McIntyre, Daneka Baker and Tina Kirkley all of Salisbury; four great grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 2:00 pm and visitation at 1:00 pm with the Pastor, Rev. Dr. W. T. Jackson, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
