Mr. Richard Oscar Alexander, age 75, of Lash Dr., Salisbury, NC died Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at the Laurels of Salisbury after being seriously ill for 2 weeks. He was born April 25, 1932 in Iredell County, NC. He was the son of the late George and Rena Alexander.
He was educated in the public schools of Iredell County. He retired from North Carolina Finishing Co.
Mr. Alexander was a faithful and dedicated member of the United House of Prayer for All People where he served as a Deacon.
A wife, Willie Emma McConneyhead Alexander and a daughter, Mary Jane Smotherman preceded him in death.
Survives are a son, Richard L. Davis, Salisbury, NC; daughters, Mattie Ruth Hailey (Harold), East Spencer, NC and Betty Ann Alexander, Washington, DC; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
Homegoing services 1:30 pm Saturday, July 21, 2007 at the United House of Prayer for All People with Apostle A.M Oakley, Pastor, Officiating; visitation 1:00 pm until funeral time; interment in Oakwood Cemetery.
