Richard Sylvester Cuthbertson, Jr.

Richard Sylvester Cuthbertson, Jr.  of Cleveland, NC, departed this life at Novant Health Medical Center on Saturday, September 2, 2022 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, Salisbury.  He was born in Rowan County to the late Annette Ijames and Richard Sylvester Cuthbertson Sr., and attended the Cedar Grove AME Zion Church at an early age. He was educated in the Rowan County public Schools. He was employed at the Kontoor Brand Company.  Richard was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, and leaves to forever cherish his memories his wife; Teresa Pruitt Cuthbertson of the home; children Damarcus Wiggins, Duane (Erika) Pruitt, Twana Pruitt of Salisbury, Richard S. Cuthbertson lll, of Cleveland, NC; brother Jeffery Cuthbertson, Cooleemee;  sisters Cynthia Jefferies, Cooleemee; Sylvia (Willie) Mitchell, Salisbury; Candy (Ronnie) Clark, Manassas VA.,  20 grandchildren, 2 great-grands.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

Arrangements: Service will be held Thursday, September 8, 2:00 p.m. at Hairston Funeral Home Chapel. A WALK-THROUGH VIEWING, will be held on Wednesday, September 7, from 4:00- 6:00 p.m.  Mask are required for both visitation and service.
