Roneshia Steele Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce the death of our family member, Ms. Roneshia Alexandria Steele of Salisbury, NC.  Roneshia passed, October 9, 2024 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center after a brief illness.  Roneshia was born in Rowan County on, December 15, 1989 to Ruby Archie Steele and the late Robert A. Steele, Jr.  She was a graduate of North Rowan High School, Durham Technical Community college where she earned an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice and a graduate of Mt. Olive University, where she earned her BS degree in Criminal Justice. She completed her first year of obtaining her Master's degree in Social Work at North Carolina Central University where she maintained a 4:0 GPA.  She was a member of Phi Alpha Social Work Honor Society and was an officer of the Graduate School Student Government.  She loved North Carolina Central University.  She was employed as a Qualified Professional with Liaisons Community Care, a position she loved.  She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the youth choir and served as the youth choir director.  She participated in many church activities as a child, a teenager and in her early adult life.

Roneshia never met a stranger and enjoyed her life reinventing herself through fashion and glamour.  Her favorite color was "purple", which she wore frequently. The color purple symbolizes wisdom, power, spirituality, luxury, wealth and nobility.  It also symbolizes independence and dignity.  Roneshia embraced all of these traits in her daily life.

Her life will forever be remembered and cherished by her loving and dedicated mother, Rev. Ruby Archie Steele of the home; uncle, Harvery Archie, Sr. (Connie), Salisbury, NC; brothers, Robert Steele, III (Tritesha) Durham, NC; Phillip Steele (Dalya), Burlington, NC; sister, Michelle Steele (Ponrico), Raleigh, NC, and bonus sibling; Timothy Jennings, Monet Wise and Mary Jennings; as well as a host of other relatives,  classmates, co-workers, and dear friends and, her best friend of all, her loving pet, Milan, who is grieving her every day.

Roneshia's extraordinary and awesome life will be lovingly celebrated on, Friday, October 18, 2024 at Gethsemane Baptist Church, 719 S. Caldwell Street, Salisbury, NC. Rev. Ruby Archie Steele, eulogist.  Rev. Dr. Roy Dennis, pastor presiding.
