Mrs. Rose Mary Smith Mitchell, age 78, of 505 Harrell Street, Salisbury, NC died Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Mitchell was born July 17, 1930 in Salisbury to the late Joseph and Luella Smith. She attended Aggrey Memorial High School, Landis, NC. She previously attended Rose of Sharon Holiness Church.

In addition to her parents, she preceded in death by two sons, Edward Darnell Mitchell and Christopher Ricardo Mitchell.

Those who survive are sons, Larry Mitchell (Janice), Salisbury, NC and Jerry Lewis Mitchell (Sylvia), Stratford, CT; nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Service will be 1:30 pm and vistation 1:00 pm Tuesday at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Jones, officating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
