Samantha Jena Cowan, age 34 of Franklin Street, Salisbury, passed, Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the Kiser Hospice House, Salisbury, NC. She was the daughter of Linda Cowan Jackson and Rudolph Simpson, both of Salsibury. She attended the public schools of Salisbury-Rowan. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Mary Cowan Barger, maternal grandfather, Lopez Wilson and her paternal grandfather, Frank Simpson. She is survived by her paternal grandmother, Barbara Jean Simpson, her sister, Tonya Cowan Bailey, two nieces, Destiny Cowan and Kaitlyn Bailey; aunts, Lana Cowan Hooker, and Julia (Chauncey) Sanders; uncles, Curtis Cowan, Howard (Tina) Cowan, Theodore (Teddy) Cowan, and Allen Ringgold; special uncle, Mustafa Shakur; god-parents, Terry Ann (Mark) Ferguson; special friends, Sandra Walker, Rhonda Phifer and a host of cousins and friends.
Memorial service, 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2015 at New Zion Baptist Church, Linwood, NC, Rev. Richard Gray, Pastor, officiating and, Rev. Dr. Beverly Rose, Eulogist.
