Sharon Valarie (West) Swafford

Our beloved Sharon Valarie West Swafford, age 52 of Salisbury, passed on Monday, April 18, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Queens, New York, on, March 19, 1970 to Margaret Heligh West and Mr. Otis Eugene West Sr., She was a graduate of Junior Richmond High School, New York and Rowan Medical Center, Salisbury where she earned her Nursing Degree. Sharon lived life to the fullest she enjoyed shopping and playing cards.   

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin and Anthony West. Those who remain to cherish her memories husband, Eric Swafford of the home, parents, Margaret Heligh West and Mr. Otis Eugene West Sr., Salisbury, a son, Shawn J. West,, four daughters, Shakera A. Swafford, Rameiqua E. W. Swafford, Shanasia E. Swafford, Siraya N. Richardson, all of Salisbury, two brothers, Otis Eugene (Becky) West Jr., Clarence W. (Janeen)  West, both of Salisbury, two sisters, Jacqueline R. (James) Adams, Queens, New York, Deborah K. West, Salisbury; five grandchildren, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Service: April 26, 2022.  Visitation: 12:30. Funeral: 1:00 at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, 719 S. Caldwell St, Salisbury, NC. 28144, Rev. Dr. Roy L. Dennis Jr., Pastor.  Rev. Clarence Marlin, eulogist.  Masks are required for the service.  At the request of the family, there will not be a public viewing.
