Mrs. Shirley Palee Vinson Gaines, age, 63 passed from this earthly life to life eternal on, Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Novant Rowan Health Medical Center.  She was born in Rowan County on, March 4, 1953 to the late EV Robert Vinson and the late Beulah Fortune Vinson.  She was a graduate of Salisbury High School and was last employed at Draft Tex.  She was a member of Mt. Zion Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.

In addition to her parent’s she is predeceased by a sister, Diane Kerns.

Those who shall forever cherish fond memories are her husband; Larry D. Gaines, Sr., of the home; one son, Larry D. Gaines, Jr., (Deirdra), Salisbury and one daughter, Kisha Gaines, Granite Quarry; brothers; Ernest Fortune, Salisbury; James Robert Vinson (Shirley), East Spencer; Frederick Vinson, Salisbury; Jerry Vinson (Wanda), Salisbury and Douglas Vinson (Jackie), Concord; one sister; Burine Pate (David), Lexington; one aunt, Alice Fortune, one uncle, Sam Williams, East Spencer, seven grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends

Funeral service will be held on, Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Mt. Zion Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, Salisbury.  Visitation 12:00 p.m. followed by funeral at 1:00 p.m., pastor   Rev. Dr. Beverly Rose Gaines, Eulogist.  Burial will follow in Rowan Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the home in Granite Quarry.
