Mrs. Greenard Steele, age 67, of 1464 Tygress Dr., Kannapolis entered into eternal life Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Carolina Medical Center Northeast, Concord.

Mrs. Steele was born January 30, 1942 to the late Henry and Annie Greenard.

She was a graduate of J. C. Price High School, Livingstone College,and Drake University, Des Moines, IA where she recieved her Law Degree.

Mrs. Steele was a member of St. Luke baptist church, Salisbury. She previously attended Brook Hollow Baptist Church, Houston, TX where Rev. Ralph Douglas West is pastor.

A husband, John Allen Steele, Sr. and a sister, Betty Isaac preceded her in death.

Survivors are a son, John Allen Steele, Jr. (Fenesta) of the home; daughters, Sheryl Steele of the home and Joan Corbin (Michael), Houston, TX; brother, Henry Carl Lee, Maryland; sisters, Ruby Beaty, Salisbury, Norma Gaither (Lovett) and Terri Hammond (Andre) both of Hampton, VA and Rita Lee, Winston-Salem, NC; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be Thursday, April 23,2009 at 1:00 pm and visitation at 12:00 at St. Luke Baptist Church with the Pastor, Rev. Arthur Heggins, Officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
