Tina Nicole Chaires, age 31, of 1102 Walton Place, Salisbury, NC died, Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Northeast Medical Center, Concord, NC. Tina was born on July 17, 1975 in Schenectady, NY to Toni M. Robinson and John R. Chaires, Sr.

Tina was chosen as the 1984 March of Dimes Poster Child, representing Spine-A-Bifida in Danville, Va.

Tina graduated from Salisbury High School in 1996. She attended St. Andrew University and Rowan Cabarrus Community College.

Tina dedicated her life to Christ in 1994 at Mount Mariah Baptist Church located in Charleston, SC. She joined Gethsemane Baptist Church in 1995 and was a member of the Pastor Aid and Outreach Ministry.

Survivor's include her mother, Toni Robinson of the home; John Chaires, Sr., (Desiree), Schenectady, NY; brothers, John Chaires, Jr., Dover, NH and Jovan Chaires Schenectady, NY; sister, Schelonda Chaires, Schenectady, NY; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services were held on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation was held 12:30 p.m.-1:00 p.m. with Dr. Clary Phelps officiating.

Hairston Funeral Home, Inc., was in charge of the service.
