Mr. Tonsel A. "T.A". Litaker, Jr., age 80 son of the late Tonsel A. and Sarah Feamster Litaker died Saturday, September 29, 2007 at the Laurels in Salisbury, NC.

He attended R.A. Clement High School, Cleveland, NC and retired from HBD Industry after previously being employed at Norfolk Southern Railway. He was a veteran of the US Army.

Mr. Litaker was a former member of Miller's Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, where he served on the Steward Board, Usher Board and Lay Council.

He was preceded in death by two wives, Ella Rankin Litaker and Doris Zebonia Litaker.

Survivors are his sons, William Linarce and Edward Litaker both of Salisbury, NC and Gary Litaker of Goldsboro, NC; daughters, Sarah Litaker Brown (James), Carolyn Alston (Norman), and Linda Borders (Randy) all of Salisbury, NC; brothers, William A. Litaker, Aaron Litaker(Patricia), Rufus Litaker, Roy Litaker (Daisy) and Uvern Litaker all of Salisbury, NC; sisters, Mary Johnson, Naomi Love, Lula Massey, Hazel Robbins and Patricia Gregory (James) all of Salisbury, NC; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 12:30 p.m., at Miller's Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church. Rev. Hezekiah Lawson, Pastor and Bishop W.A. Brown, Eulogist.

Burial will be in the U.S. National Cemetery on Brenner Rd., with full military rites by the Salisbury Honor Guard. Hairston Funeral Home, Inc., is serving the family. Online messages may be sent to Hairstonfh@bellsouth.net.
