Vaughn Vonzell Williams Obituary

Brother Vaughn ("Teddy Bear") Vonzell Williams, age, 47, of 210 Phifer Rd., Cleveland, NC died, September 3, 2008 at Rowan Regional Medical Center after a brief illness of four months.

He was born April 6, 1961 in Washington, DC to the late Izola bost Teeter and James Williams.

He was a graduate Dunbar High School, Washington, DC. He was last employed at Ham's Restaurant.

A member of Cedar Grove AME Zion Church, he served as Local Preacher, Musician, member of the Men's Booster Ministry, Tape Ministry. He was also a member of the Rowan Helping Ministry Task Force. Brother Williams was also a former member of the Revelations Gospel Group. He played with several gospel groups including the Gospel Keynotes.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by two sisters, Windred Crossland formerly of Delaware and Darlene Zeigler formerly of Washington, DC.

Survivors are his wife, Patricia Ellis Williams of the home; daughter, Ashley Williams, Greensboro, NC; brother, Douglas Ziegler, Woodleaf, NC; sisters, Phyllis Carroll, Cleveland, NC, Valarie Miller (Sherman), Concord, NC and Myra Teeter, Washington, DC; father and mother-in-law, James "Pete" and Helen Ellis, Woodleaf, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 6, 2008, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Cedar Grove AME Zion Church. Funeral Services will be Sunday, September 7, 2008 at 3:00 pm at the church with the Pastor, Reverend Dr. Patricia Tyson, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
