Mrs. Virginia Chambers Ramsey, age 85 of East Spencer, passed quietly at her
home surrounded by her loving family on, Tuesday, July 6, 2021. She was born on
July 10, 1935 in Iredell County to the late Myrtle Chambers Minor and James
Davidson. She was a graduate of Morning Side High School, Statesville, NC and
Livingstone College, class of "1956". She taught in the Stanly County School
System and Rowan County School System with a combined 30 years of service. She
enjoyed her career as a teacher and influenced many students to continue their education in the surrounding
counties. She enjoyed cooking and baking for the family and working outdoors with her flowers, as well as watching television.
In addition to her parent's, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles
E. Ramsey, Sr., and a son, Cedrick L. Ramsey.
Those who shall forever cherish her memory are sons, Charles E. Ramsey, Jr.,
(Shirley) and Derek Ramsey all of East Spencer; four grandchildren and 12
great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Service: Saturday, July 10, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at Gethsemane Baptist Church, 719
S. Caldwell St., Salisbury, NC, Dr. Roy L. Dennis, pastor. Bishop C.R. Minor,
eulogist. Committal service will be held on, Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 1:00
p.m. at the US National Cemetery, Salisbury. Walk through viewing will be held
on, Friday, July 9, 2021 at Hairston Funeral Home from 1-4.
