Mr. Lovaine White, Sr., age 80, affectionately called "Baby" passed Thursday at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

He was born October 7, 1929 in Rowan County to the late Katie Bradshaw White Witherspoon and Harris White.

Mr. White was educated in the public schools of Rowan County. He retired from Cone Mills. Mr. White was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where he served with the Trustee Ministry. Mr. White was also a member of the J. C. Price American Legion Post #107.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Gillespie, brothers, James Johnson and Jay Hue Chambers and a sister, Lola Gray.

Those who shall forever cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Louise Feamster White of the home; sons, Lovaine White, Jr. (Chonita), Salisbury; daughter, Velma Elizabeth White of the home; brothers, Garland Witherspoon (Margie) and Rev. Lewis Witherspoon (Catherine) both of Franklinton, NC, Nathaniel Witherspoon (Irene), Asheville, NC, Rev. Luke Witherspoon (Juanita) Atlantic City, NJ and James Ramseur, Cleveland, NC; sisters, Shirley Johnson, Mooresville, NC, Thelma Waller (George), Durham, NC and Lillie Bell McCluney, East Spencer, NC; sister-in-law Jeanette Witherspoon, Mooresville, NC; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a host nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law,cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be Wednesday 12:30 pm and visitation 12:00 -pm at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Salisbury with the Pastor, Rev. Dr. W. T. Jackson, officiating. Burial will be Thursday 11:00 am in the US National Cemetery, Statesville Blvd., Salisbury with military rites.
