Mr. Dario Matienzo Mendoza, age 85, of South Ellis Street, Salisbury. He passed on August 6, 2016 at the North Carolina State VA Veteran Home. He was born December. 19, 1930 in San Juan Puerto Rico. He was preceded in death by his father, Juan Matienzo and mother Oamiana Mendoza and nephew, Felix Jackson.. He attended High school in Puerto Rico. He retired from W. G. Hefner V.A Hospital.

He is survived by nephew (son) Carlton (Shirley) of Salisbury, NC; Carmen Jackson Harris (Doug) of Salisbury; Linda Rose Whitson of New York, NY; a host of other nieces and nephews. Service will be Monday, Aug. 15, 2016 11:00 am at the US National Cemetery, Salisbury with military rites.  Rev. Jerry Miller presiding. NC. Memorials: In lieu of flowers make memorials to the North Carolina State Veterans Home, Salisbury.
