Ms. Ezell N. Torrence, age 74 of Kannapolis, NC, died, Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at CMC-Northeast, Concord, NC. Mrs. Torrence was born on April 6, 1941 in Iredell County to the lat Henry Blackwell and Minnie Lee Norman Mackins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Lee Torrence, a son, Tracy Bernard Torrence, brothers, Albert Norman; Joe Blackwell, Frank Blackwell and Jerry Blackwell.

Mrs. Torrence was educated in the public schools of Rowan County and was a graduate of Aggrey Memorial High School in Landis. She was last employed and retired from Fieldcrest Cannon Mills.

She leaves to cherish her memories; a son, Randy Torrence of the home; daughters, Deborah T. Cunningham (Sylvester) of Kannapolis, Janet Torrence of Salisbury, Paulette T. Adams (Ruben) of China Grove, and Sybill T. Adams (John) of Kannapolis; step-daughter, Eva Gillion (Kenneth) of Statesville; brothers, Ralph Norman of Charlotte; Howard Blackwell and Paul Blackwell of Baltimore, Maryland; and Tommy Harper (Emma) of Hartwell, Georgia; sister, Constance Lancaster, (Guy), of Baltimore; god children, Ernest Adams and Vanessa Adams, both of Statesville; one special grandnephews, Ralph Norman, Jr., and a special grandniece, Charlene Norman, both of Charlotte; 15 grandchildren, many, many great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; and a host of many extended family and friends.

Funeral held, Monday, August 17, 2015-Wake 11:00, Funeral-12:00 p.m., at New Life Baptist Church, Concord, NC, with Pastor Tommy Steele, officiating and eulogist. Burial followed in Carolina Memorial Park, Concord.
