Mr. Henry L. Dorty Sr. (Bobby), 81, of Salisbury NC, passed away unexpectedly on July 18, 2016 at Novant Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury NC. He was born on May 29, 1935 in Surry County NC to the late William C. Dorty and Rhoda N. Dorty.  He was a graduate of R.A. Clement High School in Cleveland NC, and retired after 30 years of service from Fiber Industries. Henry was a member of Bethel Power of Faith Ministry in Salisbury NC.

Henry was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister; Mr. Clyde Dorty, Mr. Charles Dorty, Mr. James Dorty, Mr. Arthur L. Dorty, Mr. Larry C. Dorty, and Mrs. Dorothy M. Bellamy.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Mrs. Barbara Ann Dorty of the home; sister, Ms. Florence Clark of Detroit Michigan; brother, Mr. Leroy Dorty of Statesville NC; children, Mr. Henry L. Dorty Jr. (Joy) Troutman NC; Mrs. Dawn Cushman (Tony), Salisbury NC; Ms. Mary Ann Sumner (Alvin), Salisbury NC; Mrs. Sharon Valentine (Robert), Salisbury NC; Ms. Karen Dorty, Salisbury NC; and Mrs. Tina Hargrove (Reco), Morgantown West Virginia.  Henry is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.  

Service:  Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Outreach Christian Tabernacle, Pastor, Bradley Taylor, officiating.  Visitation: 12:00 p.m., Funeral 1:00 p.m.
