Mrs. Joesphine Cowan Rhodes, age 70, of Hope Hill Road, Salisbury, NC passed Saturday, at Novant Medical Center. She was born Sept. 4, 1945 in Rowan County to the late Lino Cowan and Luvada Neely. Mrs. Rhodes attended R. A. Clement High School, Clement High School, Cleveland, NC. She retired from Autumn Care Nursing Center. Mrs. Rhodes was a member of Abudant Life of Fayetteville, NC. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Rhodes, Sr. Survivors are sons, Paul A. Rhodes, Jr., of Fayetteville, NC and Steven Rhodes of Salisbury, NC; daughters, Patricia Ross of Salisbury, NC, and Deborah Rhodes of Raleigh, NC; sisters, Helen Beatty of Salisbury, NC, Bessie Wilson of Cooleemee, NC, Ruby Melvin of Anderson, SC; eight grand children and seven great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and fiends and a devoted friend, Edward E. Higgins of Salisbury. Visitation at 12:00 noon Funeral services will 1:00 pm Friday April 29, 2016 at Gethsemane Baptist Church with J. C. Monroe, Jr. officiating. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery.
