Mr. Nasby Jordan Mills, Sr., age 74 of 713 Pinehurst St., Salisbury, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2005 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. He was born, January 20, 1941 in Pitt County, NC, to the late, Fernando and Alice Corey Mills. He was preceded in death by a son, Weldon Gray Mills and sister, Verna L. Ellison, and brothers, Alton Carl Mills, William Earl Mills, Robert Mills, Linwood Rose Mills and Fernando Mills, Jr.

Nasby graduated from P. S. Jones High School, Washington, N.C. He was previously employed as a brick mason. He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church and served as a trustee and member of the Laymen League and a former member of the Men's Choir. Nasby loved the outdoors. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. He was a Redskin fan from his heart.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elaine Connor Mills, children, Nasby Jordan Mills, Jr. (Sheila), Reginald Karl Mills (Jacqueline), Charles Warren Mills (Lelisa); 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and a faithful family daughter, J. Francis King. Funeral will be held on, Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. C.L. Phelps, pastor, eulogist. Visitation will began at 12:00 noon, followed by the Home Going Service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
