Mr. Rufus Edward Litaker, age 78, of Woodleaf, died, Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the Kiser Hospice House, Salisbury. Mr. Litaker was born in Rowan County on, February 27, 1937 to the late Tonsel A. Litaker, Sr., and Sarah Feamster Litaker. In addition to his parent's, he was preceded in death by brothers, Aaron Litaker and T.A. Litaker, Jr., sister, Hazel Robbins and a daughter, Janie Ruth Mason. He was a graduate of R. A. Clement High School. He retired from Carolina Rubber Hose Plant as a Machinist. He was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, where he served on the Trustee Board and Senior Choir.

Survivors include his wife, Rev. Evelyn Mattison Litaker of the home, step-sons, Craig (Pam) Mattison, and Tyrone Mattison, all of Salisbury; step-daughter; Shannon Oliver (David) of Yanceyville, NC; brothers, Uvern Litaker (Pearline), Roy Litaker (Daisy) and William Litaker, all of Salisbury; sisters, Mary Johnson, Lula Mae Massey, Naomi Love, and Patricia Gregory (James), all of Salisbury; seven grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Service: Wake-2-3. Funeral 3:00 p.m., at Jerusalem Baptist Church, Spencer, NC, with Rev. Jerry Miller, pastor, Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, officiant and eulogist. Burial, Monday, August 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., Oakwood Cemetery.
